Why Joondalup?

The City of Joondalup is in the fast growing north west corridor of Perth, with its southern boundary located just 15kms from the Central Business District of Perth. With a population of approximately 160,000 and a total land area of 96.55 square kilometres, the City is the second largest local government in Western Australia by population.
Joondalup is serviced by the Mitchell Freeway and the Joondalup light passenger rail line which provides high volume transport to the Perth Central Business District and the outer northern areas of Perth. Joondalup is just 26 kilometres from Perth Airport and 30 kilometres from Fremantle.
The City is home to more than 13,400 registered businesses (external website link) with strong health, education, tourism, retail, finance and professional service sectors. These businesses service a growing regional population of approximately 294,000 which is expected to increase to an estimated 417,800 by 2031.
At the heart of the north-west metropolitan region is the Joondalup City Centre. Home to the Joondalup Learning Precinct, Joondalup Health Campus, a major retail and services precinct and the Central Business District (CBD), the City Centre provides a knowledge and service hub for the region. This is complemented by the major industrial precincts of the Quadrangle Edgewater (external website link) and Joondalup.
Industrial Precinct
Comprising 29 hectares overall, the Quadrangle offers a diverse range of precincts from offices to commercial to retailing, a technology park and research facility. Other support services will coexist in a new development which will provide easy transport connections with customers and other businesses.
Education Precinct
Higher education is an important attraction and Joondalup features the Learning Precinct, made up of the three co-located education campuses of Edith Cowan University, West Coast Institute of Training and the Western Australian Police Academy. The Precinct complements a choice of private and public education opportunities and specialist services including major private and public hospitals.
The Precinct institutions work closely with local business, government, commerce and industrial clients to provide education and training programs and consultancy services tailored to assist with business growth.
Marine Park
Hillarys Boat Harbour is part of a world class marine park and is one of WA’s most significant tourism attractions bringing over four million visitors a year to the Joondalup area. The area also features many other well-established regional tourism attractions such as the Joondalup Resort and Golf Course, the Aquarium of WA (AQWA), Ocean Reef Boat Harbour, Rottnest Island Ferry depot and Yellagonga Regional Park.
